Happy Holidays

Can you believe it?  Christmas is but one week away!

I hope you’ve had a chance to take some time for yourself and enjoy the holiday spirit.

Today at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays we are having a sketch challenge and this is our sketch for you this week:

Dee Sketch 2

I have to admit I’m a little partial to this sketch as I drew it up.  If you’ve been a follower of my blog you know that I love square cards but I hate having to pay the extra postage that is required to mail them.  About the only time I make a square card is if I know I’m going to hand deliver it.  This is my answer, a modified square card.  If you look to the right of the sentiment area it is a square card placed on a rectangle shaped card – clever?  I think so.  This is how the card looks when you open it up:

The DP I’m using is from imaginisce, I matted the papers using red cardstock.  Did you know you can punch the red velveteen ribbon that is everywhere this time of year?  The texture of the ribbon adds to the richness of the card.  To complete the border treatment I added a ribbon and small bow.

I love one of Bugaboo’s latest releases, Christmas Bugaboo Brats and accessories.  For this card I used the ornament, candy cane and girl elf sitter.  I colored the candy cane and elf with copic and then cut them out.  The ornament was super easy.  I just printed the image on DP, highlighed the top with a silver pen and then cut it out.

I know it is a busy time of year for everyone but I’d love to see your creations using our challenge sketch.
