With a thankful heart

It’s been a lo-o-ong time since I’ve had a chance to play along with the Designed 2 Delight challenges.  I went almost a year without missing one but for some reason I didn’t have the time to make a card to play along.  I didn’t want to just whip one up just to get the next freebie – I want each of my cards to be something I’m proud of.

If you’ve never played along with the D2D challenges, this week is a great week to start.  On the first Friday of each month Faith, the creator of D2D, provides a free digital stamp to participate in the challenge.  Just by submitting a card, she’ll send you the digital stamp to be used for the following weeks challenge.  This is a great way to build up your digital stamp collection.  I love all of my stamps from D2D.

I drew my color palette from this fabulous photo inspiration, Dutch Dare Card Challenges is asking us to draw from this photo in whatever way we feel is appropriate.

For my card today, I’m using the freebie image along with two other D2D images – the pumpkins and the leaves.  I take that back – I used three other D2D images, the sentiment is also a D2D digital stamp.  I made my favorite type of embellishment – using a secondary image cutout  to highlight the focal image.

The sketch I’m using is from Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge.  I colored my images with copic markers.  When it came time to add some ribbon to the card, I didn’t have the right width of ribbon – all I had was some lavendar ribbon in the width I wanted.  Copic markers to the rescur.  I colored each ribbon a different color to coordinate with the leaf DP, sorry I have no idea who makes it – I know I’ve had it for years.

Thanks so much for stopping by – I hope you’ll stop back again soon!  Dee

  1. Dee this is the cutest card, I love the image! Thanks for reminding us of the Designed 2 Delight challenges, it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten back there too 🙂

Thanks for visiting my blog today and leaving me a sweet comment 🙂 Try out the dotted background with your Copic markers on a scrap of scratch paper or something you haven’t colored yet to see if you like it & you’re right is only a piece of paper 🙂 Have a great day! Jan
