One of my brothers asked me for a card he could give to his new girlfriend – I really didn’t have anything I thought would be special enough and then I remembered a new digi I just purchases at 2 Cute Ink during their fall sale (sale goes until Sept 30th!). I used a non-traditional fall color palette but I think it all works – what do you think?
It’s hard to tell but I fussy cut all of the leaves and layered them on top of the colored digi image to give a bit of a 3-D effect.

Happy Monday to You!
I’m here to share an idea with you to use those digi images we all have in a non-traditional way. I’m casing an idea I saw done by Pyselfroken (sorry no link available) but I wanted to give her the credit for my project.
I don’t know what the weather is like where you live but we definitely have a feeling of fall in the air. The temps at night have been near freezing – the trees have already started to change colors. So much for global warming!
With fall in the air, I opted to make a fall centerpiece. I started off by cutting strips of orange cardstock and attaching them at the ends with a brad to allow me to move them into a circular shape. I adhered the pumpkin on to a circle base, glued various flowers to the base and added some die cut leaves. I wound some green cardstock to make the stem and glued it to the top of the pumpkin, added a die cut leaf and a ribbon.
I printed Squirrel (it is a Catch the Bug Anything but a Card inspiration after all :-)) onto cardstock and also a mirror image and glued the two together as the centerpiece can be seen from all sides and I wanted the image to be seen on both sides of the cutout. I added a tealight to give the pumpkin and inner glow. If you try this idea, please use a tealight as I’m afraid a regular tealight would probably burn your centerpiece and after all of that hard work, I hate to see it go up in smoke!
Thanks so much for the visit and I hope I’ve inspired you to try this idea! Dee

It’s your birthday!
It’s my birthday today too 🙂
Birthdays are all about being a bit squirrelly and today’s card it just that – literally and figuratively! In hindsight I wish I had used a cream color base as the white seems a bit too harsh for an autumn card but it’s not too bad – next time I’ll give the cream a whirl. I always seem to struggle to make birthday cards for those special guys in my life but I think this is works well especially with the geometric embossed background.

Fairies – Pumpkins, Mushrooms and Bats
Is it starting to feel like Autumn where you live? The last few nights have been a bit cooler and in the morning I can feel the nip of Autumn approaching. The leaves have already begun to change colors to their Autumn rainbow of colors. What colors do you think of when you think of Fall time? I think of yellows, oranges, deep reds, rust, some yellowy greens and a touch of brown. Well, the challenge for the next two weeks at Di’s Digi Designs isFabulous Fall colors. You don’t need to have a Fall theme, just use Fall colors.
We are so lucky this week to have Crafty Ribbons as our fabulous sponsor. Crafty Ribbons is a ribbon emporium, they are passionate about ribbons and want to share our fantastic ribbons with others. Their range of Christmas ribbons is second to none. Remember when we only used ribbons to add a bow to our hair, or tie up a birthday parcel? Ribbons are now a “must-have” for all types of craft. Whether your project requires satin, sheer, silk, grosgrain, gingham or polka dot ribbon we have them all! Lots and lots of different colours in a range of widths. Need a little bit of ribbon inspiration – then have a look at our projects on our blog,or visit our Inspiration blog,or maybe join in with them at their Challenge blog. Go on, have a look… It’s worth it !

I’ve been playing with my new Mighty Oak Stamp and Die set from PaperTrey Ink. This is my third card, check out here and here for my two previous cards using this set. This set is so versatile, my two previous cards were a fall themed card and a birthday card – for this card I went with a sympathy theme. This time, I didn’t use any of the stamps – just the dies! I used a variety of papers from Nitwit’s Autumn Enchantment Collection – this is my favorite fall-themed paper collection, I just love the addition of the purple color!
If you have time, I’d love to hear which of the three cards is your favorite!
Thanks so much for the visit! Dee
