Christmas Wishes

It all started with this sketch from My Time Made Easy – I knew just what kind of spin I wanted to put on this sketch.  Bear with me as this will be a fairly lengthy post but I think by the time you get to the end, you’ll think it was worth it – or I hope so anyway;-)

Not a lot of embellishments on this card.  The ribbon is from last years stash that I purchased at Michaels, the DP also from last years stash is from SEI and few rhinestones are the only other addition to the card.  I added Prisma glitter to the hat band and collar, also the snow gets a bit of sparkle from a dusting of glitter.

I guess for me the layout is the star of the card and I didn’t want to detract from it.

This is what the card looks like when you swing open the outer flap. The sentiment is a pre-printed vellum sentiment I found – again from last years Christmas goodies.  I adhered the vellum onto a strip of cardstock with micro mini glue dots, these are so tiny and are perfectly hidden by the rhinestone I placed on top of them.  I made sure the vellum panel fit perfectly behind the front panel so you’d be surprised when you opened the card to reveal the sentiment.

This photo shows what the card looks like on the inside when you let the inner flap fall open.  I have the angled front flap tucked behind so you can see the inside better.  The sentiment is from Crafty Sentiments.

The photo shows the front flap off to the side – I wish the inside looked a little neater but I think it’s okay due to it all having the same cardstock backing.

One last photo showing how the front flap can be closed but still exposing the inner sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my mini-tutorial on how I put this card together – a few extra steps but it really didn’t take me that much longer to make.  See you again soon!  Dee

This is wonderful, and what a lot of work. I love her sparkly hat, it really makes me think of Christmas and cold clear nights with jack frost all over the place.
