A Little Creative License

Okay, I know poppies are red  but I thought it would be fun to make blue – after all blue is my favorite color.

wonderful birthday

Now the real reason for the blue poppies – I was inspired by Loves Rubberstamps challenge to visit the Kirklands Website and choose a product to use as inspiration for our project.

See they have blue poppies too!  I didn’t quite get the brown as intense as theirs.  I stamped on to a blue piece of cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  In hindsight I should have stamped on white cardstock and did more coloring and shading, by using the blue cardstock I added a few flicks of color.

Paper: Cardstock

Stamp: Poppy Backgrounds – Hero Arts

Embossing Folders: Cuttlebug

Sentiment: Digi Freebie  – Netty’s Stamps

Die: Notched Flower – PaperTrey Ink, Circles – Spellbinders

Embellishments: Ribbon – this is the first ribbon I ever purchased years ago!

Sketch: Willow Sketchie, optional Happy Birthday

Thanks so much for the visit!  Dee
