I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! Be honest, how many jelly beans and chocolate eggs did you eat?
Today I have a new stamp (for me) from Digi Design House, Fruit of the Spirit which can be found here. This stamp set comes with the seed pack and 8 different inserts. I’m using Kindness but the other 7 are just as wonderful. The best part is this stamps could easily be used without the seed packet – let your imagination run free when using this set.
I received these lovely papers, Juliette from The Angel Company. I even used one of the DP to print my image on to – after all, who says we have to print on to boring white paper and then color it? One of the fun things when printing on this type of paper; when using your copics even if you don’t have the right color, the background paper will help the color fall into the right color family.
If you’ve been following my blog for awhile you will have noticed I like to mat everything – I even double mat a lot! You also know then how much I LOVE my paper – the prettier it is, the harder it is for me to use it!!! I know, I know that’s weird but it’s hard for me to part with gorgeous paper. So when I’m matting large pieces of paper, I will often cut an inch border to the underlayer and save the insert to be used later – not only does this allow me to save some of that precious DP, it also lightens up the weight of the card a bit too.
The ribbon is from The Angel Company also. I cut small slits to thread the ribbon through the image and then used a second ribbon over the border strip. I used an EK Success border punch to make the border.
We still have another week for you to play along with our Paper Piecing challenge at Digi Design House – I hope you’ll join us, we’d love to see your creations!
“Til we meet again! Dee
