CIJ Recipe Challenge

I hope you are enjoying the week long festivities at Catch the Bug and our Christmas in July week!  Today we have a Recipe Challenge for you to use for your holiday project!  We’d like to see Kraft paper, Embossing (Dry or Wet) and Snowflakes.  I’m using a new image being released today.

I’m one of those that struggles to use Kraft paper.  I have not idea why but I do.  When I saw the challenge, I thought I’d try a technique I see many of you wonderful crafters do and that is to stamp with white ink on to Kraft paper.  I used white ink and on top of that I used white embossing powder and heat set the snowflakes to make a lovely background that required no patterned papers to dress it up.

Families are like Quilts

This may not be your typical sympathy card but when you pair the card front sentiment with the inner sentiment that reads, “It will be the little things you remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. Although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these things that help push away the pain and bring the smiles back again” – it’s a card that will be appreciate by anyone that is grieving.

My family and friends comment on my strange sense of humor but I think Grumpy Gertrude is hilarious!  This could be me in a few years :-)!

I added a sentiment to inside of the card using another Bugaboo stamp to make this in to a birthday card.  The sentiment reads: May your cup never be empty…May your heart always be full – Happy Birthday!

Happy Easter!

It looks like spring is taking its time coming to North Dakota.  Yesterday it  teased us with temps in the upper 40’s but today it is back to the low 30’s with a chance of – so I dare say it? – SNOW!  So much for hiding Easter Eggs outside this evening when the little ones come over.

The inspiration started with There She Goes Challenge sketch this week.

I always have fun coloring u[ the stamps from this stamp set – this is the first time I’ve used the clouds but I must say, I LOVE how whimsical they are!
