Just a little something

I know it’s August but tonight it is beginning to feel just a little like fall.  The past couple of days we’ve been in the upper 90’s but today it dropped to the low 70’s, maybe that’s why I decided to make a card using autumnal colors.

I just had to share this lovely image from Isabella’s Sketchbook, I was lucky enough to win this image playing along with her weekly challenge.  I’ve been dying to color this image.  Unfortunately my coloring doesn’t do the image justice but it is stunning non-the-less.

Since I already knew what image I was going to use, I checked out this weeks challenge at Isabella’s Sketchbook and it is to “Hide Something”.  I’m sure glad the DT had some great examples or I wouldn’t have known where to start.

I decided to make a secret pocket to stow away a gift card.  See how I did it?  Sneaky, huh?

All you do is pull out the panel behind the image.

Here’s another view:

I colored the image using copic markers.

The border treatment is using an EK Success border punch.

The sentiment is from PTI’s Everyday Button Bits and cut out using nesties.

I’m glad you stopped by and I hope you like my card!

Take a peek

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve posted lots of chances to win some blog candy.

I added quite a few great prize packages on the side of my blog – I just wanted to point these out so you’d have a chance to win.

I don’t mean to brag, but…

I’m a winner at Squigglefly with this card!

I won again too at Isabella’s Sketchbook with this card! (Granted there was only 4 entries)

Stay tuned to see what stamps I choose as my prize – I’ll be using them soon.

I missed posting this one from The Crazy Challenge:

…grow with love

Happy Monday!  Here’s wishing you a wonderful upcoming week.

Today I combined a few challenges to come up with this card.

To start with I used this sketch from Inspirational Card Challenges:

I then used this color combination from Flourishes:

FTTC80+Color+Combo+Challenge+17Aug2010

I chose this sketch as I have a growing stash of scraps and wanted to use a few of them up which works well with the challenge at Digital Tuesday Challenge which is to use our scraps.

I have to admit, this color combo is not one I’ve used before – I’m just starting to use kraft paper.

Now what type of image should I use?  I decided to use this inspirational photo provided by CCCB

The challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog (CCCB) is “Isn’t She Lovely”

I used a stamp from Lili of the Valley, colored it using copic markers.  Now that the image is colored, I can see what a great color combination these four colors are – I really like how well they work together.

I ran my kraft paper through the Cuttlebug using the With Gratitude embossing folder.

I stamped the sentiment on the bottom using a sentiment from the Everyday Button Bits stamp set from PTI.

I’m glad you stopped by and I hope you have a great week!
