I have to admit when I say the color challenge at Tiddly Inks I thought it was a tough one, so much so in fact that I didn’t even consider playing along the first week of the challenge. I was rummaging through my stack of designer paper looking for a dinosaur print I could have sworn I had (never did find it) when I stumbled across this paper Paper Salon I totally forgot I had and let’s just say it is PERFECT for this color challenge. Okay, now I want to play.
I decided to use the sketch from 2 Sisters, I had my Tiddly Ink digi stamp colored so I needed a layout that allowed for a vertical image and this sketch works beautifully!
Rather than mat the image, I chose to add a few squiggles here and there to make a border around the outer edge of the diecut image.
I used an EK Success border punch, topped it with a swiss-dotted PTI ribbon. I diecut a felt flower for the center embellishment left the other two with just the paper flower topped with a button brad. I originally had three felt flowers diecut but they over-powered the card. The sentiment was made using my computer and printed out.
As a side note – one of my brothers was in a serious motorcycle accident yesterday. He was badly injured but he is home. Unfortunately, his girlfriend that was a passenger was killed instantly. Please say a prayer for them!
Thanks for stopping by! Dee
