Flower Chick

Birdbrain HillAre you ready for a new sketch challenge?  I have to admit this sketch was a bit of a challenge for me – now that it’s done, I’m happy with it.  I did struggle trying to figure out how to utilize the sketch and the twist so I opted not to do the twist this week.

It is bittersweet but today is my last day as part of the wonderful and talented design team for From the Heart Stamps.  I’m sure many of you can relate to my situation.  I dearly love to spend time in my craft room but when I almost told my grandson I was too busy to attend his ballgame, I knew my priorities needed to change.  I have enjoyed every minute as part of the FTHS DT and I want to take this opportunity to thank Faith for allowing me to be a part of her family!

Autumn Mums

It’s my aunt’s 100th birthday and she deserves a special birthday card!  My aunt is a very special lady, she entered the Order of St Benedict’s in her teens and has devoted her life to others.  My aunt has always been a wonderful baker and to this day you can still find her baking bread – of course she doesn’t use any recipes!  She is definitely a young 100 – I can only hope to follow in her footsteps one day.

Happy Birthday Auntie!

Sketch042

Have you ever been in the situation where you just didn’t have the right color embellishment or ribbon?  Grab your copics!  I’ve used copics to color gems, ribbon, twine and in this case the silver butterfly – don’t you agree this butterfly is much prettier with a coppery sheen?

Thanks so much for the visit – I hope I’ve inspired you to give this week’s sketch challenge a try!  Dee
