Flower Chick

Birdbrain HillAre you ready for a new sketch challenge?  I have to admit this sketch was a bit of a challenge for me – now that it’s done, I’m happy with it.  I did struggle trying to figure out how to utilize the sketch and the twist so I opted not to do the twist this week.

It is bittersweet but today is my last day as part of the wonderful and talented design team for From the Heart Stamps.  I’m sure many of you can relate to my situation.  I dearly love to spend time in my craft room but when I almost told my grandson I was too busy to attend his ballgame, I knew my priorities needed to change.  I have enjoyed every minute as part of the FTHS DT and I want to take this opportunity to thank Faith for allowing me to be a part of her family!

Comfort and Care

ComfortAnother fun sketch for you to try this week – the twist is to add a sentiment.  I need to restock my sympathy cards and I found this beautiful sentiment that is part of the Comfort and Care image set.  I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point of my card so I did not color up an image.  It’s difficult to tell but I changed the color of the sentiment to a brown, not quite as bold as the black and I thought it blended better with the papers I chose to use.

Birdbrain GraduateDo you know someone that is graduating this spring?  From the Hearts Stamps has this adorable Birdbrain Graduate that is just perfect for all of you graduation cards.  I used this week’s I {heart} Sketch challenge to design my card.  The designer paper is a bit busy so I used a minimal amount of embellishments so the image could be the star of the card.

One of the great things about this image is you can customize it to coordinate with the graduates school colors.  I made this card for my nephew who is graduating from high school and his school colors are blue and silver.

Pail of FlowersI had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday – my kids and hubby do a great job of spoiling me!  I hope your day was equally as nice.

This week we have another new sketch for you to give a try with the twist of using felt.  As you can tell, I opted to not use to the sketch but rather I opted to use the twist to use felt – I love PaperTrey Ink’s felt and I have lots of it but I forget to use it so this challenge was the perfect time for me to pull some of it out.  It was hard to decide which color of felt to go with but my all-time favorite color is blue – so blue it was!

Birdbrain NinjaIt’s sketch time again with From the Heart Stamps – check out this weeks sketch:

Sketch065-558x720I added the twist also this week; for my ribbon I made 5 loop and adhered them to the back panel, it was actually hard for me to use only two designer papers (you know how I love my dp!) and I used three enamel dots as my embellishment.

Do you recognize this sketch?  Yes, it is the same one I used for Monday’s I {heart} Sketch Challenge at From the Heart Stamps.  I had originally made up this card for the sketch challenge when I realized the theme for this month’s blog hop is Get Well or Encouragement and well this card was too perfect to not share for the hop.  Did you notice I added this week’s twist to my card – yup! there is some paper-piecing – so quick and easy.  It’s almost like playing paper dolls!
