Flower Chick

Birdbrain HillAre you ready for a new sketch challenge?  I have to admit this sketch was a bit of a challenge for me – now that it’s done, I’m happy with it.  I did struggle trying to figure out how to utilize the sketch and the twist so I opted not to do the twist this week.

It is bittersweet but today is my last day as part of the wonderful and talented design team for From the Heart Stamps.  I’m sure many of you can relate to my situation.  I dearly love to spend time in my craft room but when I almost told my grandson I was too busy to attend his ballgame, I knew my priorities needed to change.  I have enjoyed every minute as part of the FTHS DT and I want to take this opportunity to thank Faith for allowing me to be a part of her family!

Birdbrain GraduateDo you know someone that is graduating this spring?  From the Hearts Stamps has this adorable Birdbrain Graduate that is just perfect for all of you graduation cards.  I used this week’s I {heart} Sketch challenge to design my card.  The designer paper is a bit busy so I used a minimal amount of embellishments so the image could be the star of the card.

One of the great things about this image is you can customize it to coordinate with the graduates school colors.  I made this card for my nephew who is graduating from high school and his school colors are blue and silver.

Birdbrain NinjaIt’s sketch time again with From the Heart Stamps – check out this weeks sketch:

Sketch065-558x720I added the twist also this week; for my ribbon I made 5 loop and adhered them to the back panel, it was actually hard for me to use only two designer papers (you know how I love my dp!) and I used three enamel dots as my embellishment.

FTHS April Blog Hop

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop. Our theme this month is Friendship. Our designers are showcasing lots of gorgeous projects.

April Blog HopAs you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win the image that the designer used. And additionally, one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $5 gift voucher to the store!

To make the raindrops a bit more lifelike, I like to use glossy accents – they make the raindrops appear wet and almost lifelike.

If you have arrived from Calypso, you are in the right place.  Calypso is featuring one of FTHS newest images, in fact I’m jealous as I haven’t had a chance to color any of these little cuties up yet.  If not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project, using Rainy Day Birdbrains.

Now head over to Imke and see her gorgeous creation featuring one of my favorite springtime flowers.

To go along with our Friendship theme, Faith has created a line of little cuties just begging to be colored.  I want them all, now I just need to decide which one I’m going to use first!

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday April 7th at 6am, EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday April 9th.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Dee

Don’t Sweat It

SketchAre you enjoying the twists added to the I {heart} Sketch challenges as much as I am???  This week we are challenging you to add an interactive piece to your project.  I’m using an Action Wobble – it’s a bit hard to photograph but it is a spring to attach to one’s image and by flicking it the image wobbles back and forth.  So much fun!  You can kind of get the idea from this photo:

If you have arrived from Angela, you are in the right place – if this doesn’t put you in the mood for springtime, I’m not sure what will.  I just love the bright, cheery colors she used.  If not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

I used my Cricut to cut out the window openings and all of the mats using my SCAL software (I don’t think this available any longer for the Cricut).  It took a bit of trial and error but I was finally able to make the different layers line up but the results are worth it!

Beer Day 2

Another fun sketch this week at I {heart} Sketch Challenge.  Starting with today’s challenge we’re adding a twist – You can use the Sketch, Use the Twist or even use both in your project.  Our Twist this week is Stitching.  I used some faux stitching around the image!  The only thing we ask is that you use a FTHS image for your submission – with all of Faith’s new images there is something for everyone to use for their creations.  I don’t know about you but I think the enamel dots look almost like foam bubbles.

Feel the Love

Welcome to another wonderful From the Heart Stamps Blog Hop – You won’t want to miss a single project!  Our theme this month is Feel the Love. Our designers are showcasing Valentine’s and Love themed projects.

This little birdbrain could have just as easily been me; let’s just say – I LOVE chocolate!

Birdbrain Valentine

If you look closely you’ll  notice the words for my sentiment are the same as the sentiment that comes in the stamp set but the arrangement is a bit different.  Why?  I wanted the sentiment to fit with the Labels Eighteen die and it left way too much white space.  So what I did was copy and pasted the sentiment a few times and then cropped out the words and reassembled them to fit the die – Just another wonderful thing about digi stamps!  By the way…don’t those chocolates look almost good enough to eat???

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win the image that the designer used. And additionally, one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $5 gift voucher to the store!

If you have arrived from Angela, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.  Wasn’t Angela’s card the “tweetest” thing??  I love how she let the image be the star of the card – love the matting too!
