Spring Medley

April Stamp of the Month

One of the nice things about digi stamps is their versatility.  I printed out one of the stamp images and then cropped out half of the stamp and printed it to combine the two images into the card you see here.

Stamp: Spring Medley – From the Heart Stamps
Paper: Daffodil Joy – Nitwit Collections

The image is the April Stamp of the Month and can be used for the SOTM Challenge.  This is a progressive challenge, meaning you need to play along to receive the next image for free, so be sure to read the rules so that you don’t miss out on any freebies. :) Want some FREE digi stamps? Play along this month and you will get a new freebie next month via email. If you missed getting this stamp for free, you can purchase it in  the store and play along to receive the next freebies.

I like the clean look of this card, the only embellishment is a touch of Stickles to a couple of the crocuses.  No tulips or crocuses here yet but hopefully soon.  Happy Spring to you!  Dee

Flower Pocket

Flower Pocket 7

Have you seen the new Friday Freebie from Bugaboo Stamps?  I love tulips, for me they are a sign that spring is here – I can hardly wait to see them peeking out of the ground!

I used one of my favorite techniques on this card – I layered my image onto a piece of digi paper prior to printing.  This makes for a nice clean card and no fussy cutting needed!  To do this technique you will need an image in a .png or .wf format.  The .png images still need to have the image with a white fill and the outline is transparent – hope that makes sense.  I think overall my card style is clean and layers – I add a few embellishments here and there but I don’t go over the top with them.  I just really appreciate how the image is the focal piece of the card.  Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE those card with all of the embellishments!  I just have never figured out how to make them as pretty as others do.  As far as clean and simple, they may look simple but they are the hardest card in the world for me to do and forget doing a card with no layers, I just can’t do it.  So what’s your style?  What type of card do you like to see?  What’s your favorite style of card to make?

Tulip Collage

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers, it’s right up there with lilacs and gerber daisies.

Today I’m sharing an image, Tulip Collage, from Designed 2 Delight.  I love how the sentiment is layered behind the image for a lovely collage effect.  I printed the image first on green cardstock and then lightly ran a copic marker to highlight border of the image.  I printed the image again this time on white cardstock and colored the image using copics.  I cut out the tulip and adhered it on to the background image.  I really like how this turned out.

I feel so lucky to be part of the D2D Design Team that I want to let you in on a little secret… okay it’s not a secret but I got your attention didn’t I?  Want to be a guest designer for this blog hop and receive a free New Release image before anyone else?
