Lullaby

Baby GirlA gal I work with is due to have a baby girl in a couple of weeks and I wanted to make her a card to celebrate the upcoming birth.  I wanted to make it even more special than the typical card I make so I decided to try making a shaker card.  Since this was my first attempt, I had a few hiccups along the way but all in all I like how it turned out.  I didn’t have any foam tape to prop up the card to allow the confetti to move around so I diecut three circle rings of cardboard and glued them together to give me the depth I needed.

I hope you are enjoying the last few days of summer!  We’ve had a cool rainy summer with only a couple of days that I consider to be on the warm side.  I can feel fall in the air.  With the kids back in school, it won’t be long and the leaves will start to turn colors!

Doing a Happy Dance

Happy Dance

Hello!  I feel like it’s been a long time since I’ve had to post a couple of cards I made just for the fun of it.  This is the second card I made today.  For those of you that may not be aware of it, we are trying to sell our current home as we are in the process of building a new home.  Between trying to keep our current home ready to show at the drop of a hat, keeping on top of the work being done at our new home and a busy work schedule I seem to struggle to find time in my craft room.  Making cards is so therapeutic for me – I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day hibernating in my craft room!

As you may have noticed, I Love, Love Nitwit Collections digi papers. I have stacks of papers I purchased over the years that are just sitting in my craft room. I love how I can print just the size of paper I need for my project and the fact they are scalable makes them even more wonderful. I anxious await each new release, in fact I just purchased their newest release yesterday – I just haven’t had a chance to play with it (think of your morning cup of coffee;hint, hint!).

Thanks so much for the visit!  Can’t wait to see your creations,  Dee

So happy for you…

Baby GirlWe’re having a Baby Blog Hop!  Our very own Min and her hubby Glenn are due to have their baby girl any day now and we couldn’t let this wonderful occasion go by without having a shower for her.

Picture3Of course, I had to go all pink – after all as many of you know my last two grandchildren are little girls and they look adorable in pink!  I’m pretty sure pink is both of their mommies favorite color too!

I am so happy for you Min, what a wonderful blessing!

I know it’s a cliche but the best advice I can offer to Min is to enjoy every day…there may be times when you just don’t know what to do next but before you know it those little ones grow up and have babies of their own.  Take lots and lots of pictures and if you have time make a scrapbook or record those special moments with a video – my kids still love to look at their baby pictures!

Enough of my blabbering.

If you came from Cheryl First you are right on track, wasn’t that just the sweetest card?

From here you’ll want to stop by and see Jennifer Zeeb’s adorable card!

So what’s a shower without a game?  We are asking you to guess the weight of the baby and the day she makes her arrival, you can find more details at Catch the Bug.

So happy hopping and Congrats to the new parents!  Dee
