Ladybug Hello

HedgehogIt’s time for another sketch from Stella Says Sketch – this challenge will be for the entire month of August so you have lots of time to participate!  As you can tell, I took the sketch and rotated it on it’s side – that’s one of the beauties of sketches as you can rotate them, you can even flip them!

I love how I can print just the size of paper I need for my project and the fact they are scalable makes them even more wonderful. I anxious await each new release, in fact I just purchased their newest release yesterday – I just haven’t had a chance to play with it (think of your morning cup of coffee;hint, hint!).

Bunny Hello

Bunny HelloOnce again From the Heart Stamps has a fun sketch for you to try or as a twist you can make a project with a monochromatic color scheme.  If you are feeling creative to can do both the sketch and the twist!  I started out with a monochromatic color scheme but as you can tell that fell by the wayside when it came time to color my image – so let’s say a did the sketch with a half-twist 🙂

To make the gradient paper, I used a graphics program and printed out a rectangle with the lightest hue on it. From there I printed rectangles intensifying the color with each rectangle. I placed the strips of paper at an angle on the original rectangle base. After adding all of the rectangle strips, I trimmed the excess paper to make the card base. For the sentiment I made the strips much smaller and printed them as one paper and then die cut the hello sentiment. I placed the sentiment at an angle to showcase the gradient colors.

Hello

hello

If you haven’t seen it yet PaperTrey Ink is celebrating their 7th Birthday – Congratulations to PTI!  Today at Capture the Moment they have a challenge to grab 7 items and make a project in 17 minutes. Easy, right??? No, No, No!!! for me anyway.  I’m going to share with you my third attempt.  By the time I finished  – okay didn’t finish my first card, it was only half done by 17 minutes.  So off to my second card – I was done in 17 minutes and I counted my items and I used 8 items, I forgot to count my cardbase.  So starting on attempt number three I was bound and determined to make this one work.  I went super simple.  I used two sheets of cardstock, two sheets of patterned paper, one hello die and two enamel dots so hopefully my math is correct and that equals seven items.  All of the items I used are from PaperTrey Ink except the enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me!  Dee

Challenges:
Come and Get It – Clean and Simple
UnstampaBelles – No stamps opt Get Dirty
Winter Wonderland – No Stamping Allowed

Hello….

helloThis card took me less than 30 minutes to make – yes I know this is a Clean and Simple card 🙂 but for me I have to restrain from adding embellishments.  I almost didn’t add the flower – but what is a card without a little decoration?

My inspiration came from CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week to use Polka Dots.  I needed a Clean and Simple sketch and the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches was the perfect layout.

Sketch: Freshly Made Sketches

Paper: Cardstock, PaperTrey Ink Polka Dot patterned paper

Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Die: Hello – PaperTrey Ink

Embellishment: Flower – Wild Orchid, Brad – American Crafts

hello

Wow! Where did the weekend go??? I can’t believe how fast the time went!  I did have a bit of time to make one card this weekend.  I went with the colors of the rainbow as I can’t wait for spring and rain instead of cold and snow as we are having right now.

Paper: PaperTrey Ink Cardstock

Stamps: hello and sentiment, Wonderful Words – PaperTrey Ink

Dies: Chevron Plate- Taylored Expressions, hello – PaperTrey Ink

Extras: Ribbon and WOW Embossing Powders

I love all of the background dies that allow you to switch up the colors, so much fun to cut and glue 🙂  I already have several color palettes I’d like to try with this die plate.

Thanks so much for the visit!  Dee

hello

Where does the day go???  The day just flew by!  I have the day off today from work, my hair stylist had to cancel my appointment so I’ve been playing in my craftroom most of the day. What do I have to show for it?  One card!!!

I saw the challenge this week at Capture the Moment – Glitter Trim.  I tried several different border dies and found the more intricate detailed ones just didn’t seem to work as well for this technique (for me anyway)!

Paper: PaperTrey Ink

Dies: Flower, Bloom Builder – PaperTrey Ink and Prima Donna Petals – My Favorite Things, Heart Swirl – Magnolia Doohicky, Medium Scallop Border Die – My Favorite Things, hello – PaperTrey Ink

Embellishments: Felt, Rhinestone Brad, Ribbon, Glitter – I’ve had this for years, I just don’t seem to use glitter very often as I seem to find it everywhere after I’m done with my project.

Thanks so much for the visit – see you soon!  Dee

Hop Along with Designed 2 Delight

This card is the perfect way to introduce myself to you if you’ve never visited me before.  This is my first monthly reveal as a Design Team member for Designed to Delight and I am super excited to show you a few of the new images Faith has created.

Meet “Happy Dance”, isn’t she adorable!  For this card, I did a bit of paper-piecing.  Did you know Designed 2 Delight has digital paper?  There is a freebie here to give it a try!  I love the versatility of digi paper it’s just like using digi images, you can resize it – print just what you need.  If you look at the scale of the print on the paper-piecing vs the background paper, you’ll see what I mean – so fun!

I did something a bit different with this card, I combined two of the new release images – “Buzzin By” and “Need a Lift”.  The background paper is digi paper from D2D – I told you I love digi paper!  I have a little freebie to share with you – I like to dabble with making my own sentiments, feel free to grab it.

Last but certainly not least is “Loving Thoughts Bouquet”.  I found this image a dream to color!  It would be so easy to change the look of this image by changing the color scheme.  You will find some amazing ideas from my team-mates, they are all so creative.

So grab a cup of coffee  – For more inspiring ideas from this new release, please visit the other designers’ blogs:

Thanks so much for blog hoppin’ with D2D! Remember, you can enter our Blog Hop Challenge for a chance to win some FREE Digis! Also, all New Release Digital Stamps will be on Sale until June 23. Details HERE.
