It’s your day…

It’s your Birthday!

Naughty PuppySketch Challenge - SPDSS06I had fun using a couple of different challenges to make today’s card.  I got my inspiration from The Shabby Tearoom and this photo inspiration.  Along with the photo; the challenge is to use the colors pink and green, add some polka dots and make a birthday themed card or project.  I then decided to use the sketch from Sugar Pea Designs.  It’s like the two were meant for each other!

Friends and Flowers

I love being part of a design team but every once in awhile it is fun to do a card just for the fun of it – don’t get me wrong, I have fun making my DT cards but I have so many other stamps that just don’t get the love they deserve.

One of the things I really like about digi papers is you can size them to what you need and layout your card on the screen prior to printing and you have an idea of what the card will look like. I started out mixing and matching different colored/patterns of paper from this digi paper set but it just wasn’t working for me until….I went with a more monochromatic look and Ta Da! Maybe it’s because I LOVE the color blue but I love, love how this card turned out.

Papers: Petal Fresh – Nitwit Collections,  Kraft Cardstock  By now you know how much I LOVE Nitwit’s Digi Papers, can’t get enough of them.  I really like how you can print off just what you need and I don’t wind up with all of those scraps that I don’t know what to do with.  I really like how this set works so well with kraft papers, the compliment each other so well.

Winter Wonder

Red and Green Wee One

I was watching the Viking-Bear’s game yesterday and I noticed it was snowing in the Twin Cities.  I was on a conference call today with some folks from the Twin Cities area and I mentioned I saw it was snowing.  To my surprise they mentioned they received over a foot of snow – guess I can’t complain about the couple of inches we got here in ND!

Let it Snow

It is so nice and summery here it is almost hard to get in the mood to make a few holiday cards but I know I will be so happy when December rolls around that I did!

Week #30

Today we have a new challenge for you at Christmas Card Challenges, we’d love to see “Rolled Paper Flowers” on your project.  I’ve made rolled flowers before but with felt, one of the really nice things about rolled paper flowers is if you use double-sided papers the design elements really add to the beauty of the flower.  If I have but one suggestion for you when making the paper flowers, don’t roll them too tightly, I did mine quite loose and they have just enough dimension but yet will easily slip into an envelope.

Paper: Wintertime – Echo Park

Wee Birdie

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  The sun is shining and it is a gorgeous summer day.  We’ve lots of rain the past couple of days and everything is so nice and green.  It seems like the lawn needs to be mowed every other day.  I took the plunge and learned how to mow using my hubbies zero-turn radius mower – so much fun!

Wee Stamps has a couple of new images and this adorable image is Peggy.  You’d never know it by looking at this card but I spent hours on it.  I started out with a different layout and it wasn’t working so I scraped it.  Thank goodness I found this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches or might have given up.

Time to Party

It’s time to shake things up a bit – I’ve been making Mother’s Day and Easter cards and thought it would be fun to do something different. I don’t know if you saw it or not but Wee Stamps has two new digi images – they are so adorable!

By now you all know how much I enjoy sketch challenges.  For this card I’m using A Gem of a Challenge’s sketch for this weeks challenge.

Lacking a sentiment that fit the card in size and theme, I decided to make one.  Feel free to use it if you like it, all I ask is that you link back to me (I love to see how creative you are)!  It’s a bit on the simple side but sometimes it nice to have a sentiment ready to go and if you’re like me, you’ll save yourself time not going through all of your font files.
